Together against breast cancer:The most important race of the year

Join us when the first edition of Rosa Varvet starts on September 2. The race offers a 5 km long challenge along a fun and beautiful course through Slottsskogen.

Along the course, you are treated to exciting activities and music before you reach the glorious finish in the heart of Slottsskogen between Björngårdsvillan and Villa Belparc.

The race is of course open to men, women, boys and girls, recommended age from 13 years. Younger ages are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

Choose the class you like the best, either walking or running, timing in both classes.

The Breast Cancer Association is Sweden´s only interest organization that focuses solely on breast cancer. In order to achieve the vision that no one should suffer from breast cancer, breast cancer research was funded. Support and rehabilitation are offered and opinion formation on breast cancer issues is driven. The Breast Cancer Association has close to 11,000 members and 32 local breast cancer associations across Sweden.

The top five best pink running outfits will win an entry to a race of your choice during Varvet Week. Put on your running shoes and dig out your most stylish pink clothes. If you can't be the fastest, you can always be the most stylish!

With Pink Your Run, between 09:00-11:00, you can get pink face painting and pink streaks in your hair.

    • Approximately 8,000 women and 60 men are affected annualy in Sweden.
    • 86 percent live ten years after diagnosis.
    • Since the mammography program was introducted, the prognosis for breast cancer has improved significantly.
    • Survival in breast cancer has doubled.

    Just by signing up for Rosa Varvet, you are contributing because SEK 50 per starting place goes directly to the Breast Cancer Association. If you want to donate more than that, it is of course fine, other contributions to the Rosa Varvet-money box can be sent to 123 391 24 09.

Arrive prepared:Important information before start

  • Start certificate, race bib & race bib distribution

    Everyone who´s registered for the Rosa Varvet can download their start certificate on My pages the week before the race. The start certificate is also emailed to the e-mail you provided when registering. Take the start certificate with you to the race bib distribution, located in Slottskogen, below Björngårdsvillan. Race bib distribution is open between 8:45 AM - 10:45 AM, September 2nd.

  • Arrive

    Feel free to take public transport to the start, the nearest stops are Linnéplatsen or the Botanical garden. Search for your route in Västtrafik's app ToGo or at vasttrafik.se.

  • Waves & Timing

    There will be a start for runners at 11 AM and a start for those who want to walk shortly after. You position yourself in the start group you want to belong to on-site. Timing will be done in both categories.

  • Start and finish area

    Start and finish are in Slottsskogen near Björngårdsvillan. See map further up on this side.

  • Bag drop

    In the starting area, it is possible to hand in bags and clothes for collection at the same place after the race. We recommend that you come changed.

  • Toilets & Changing Facilities

    Toilets are available in the start and finish area. No changing facilities are available, please come dressed and ready.

  • Medal

    Everyone who completes the Rosa Varvet gets a medal.

  • Warm up

    Common warm-up is at the start and takes place under the guidance of instructors.

  • Run in pink and win

    Awards ceremony for the top five runners with the best pink running outfits. Awards will be given out continuously after finishing directly to each runner. The prize is a starting spot for any race during the Varvet Week 2024.

  • Breast Health Station

    At Slottsskogen, Bröstcancerförbundet (the Breast Cancer Association) is present with their breast health station. There is an opportunity to discuss breast health, engage in family activities, and purchase a pink t-shirt."
