Run Varvet for Arvet

Arvet supports local athletics in Gothenburg and is an internal initiative from the Gothenburg Athletics Association. The Arvet Fund is there to provide support where it is needed. Quite simply, to make more possible.

What is Arvet?

The Arvet Fund is an internal initiative from the Gothenburg Athletics Association, created to support local athletics in Gothenburg.

It is easy to think that sport simply exists. But behind every training session are people who invest their time, energy and commitment. That is the legacy we want to strengthen and help carry forward. From one generation to the next.

Unlike the support Göteborgsvarvet already provides each year, the Arvet Fund gives clubs and athletes the opportunity to identify their own needs and apply for support. This could be a smaller initiative that makes a big difference in everyday activities, or a larger investment that creates opportunities for many. In this way, the support can be directed more closely to the needs within the clubs themselves.

A limited number of entries for Göteborgsvarvet are therefore reserved for Arvet.

Arvet makes more possible

For every Arvet entry, SEK 500 is earmarked for the Arvet Fund and goes towards needs-based initiatives within local athletics, with clubs themselves applying for support where it is needed most.

This could mean new equipment, making a training camp possible or supporting an elite development initiative.

That way, you're not only running for yourself, but also helping strengthen local athletics beyond the finish line.

Who can buy an Arvet entry?

Arvet entries are offered to people on the waiting list, in order of their position on the list.

If you decline an Arvet entry, you will keep your position on the waiting list and may still have the opportunity to purchase a regular entry if one becomes available later.

  • What does an entry cost?

An Arvet entry costs SEK 1,599. Of this amount, SEK 1,099 covers the regular entry fee, while SEK 500 goes to the Arvet Fund.

  • The waiting list gets priority

Starting on 27 October, a limited number of people on the waiting list will receive an email, in order of their position on the list, offering them the opportunity to purchase an Arvet entry.

  • How your support is shown

If you purchase an entry through Arvet, you'll receive a race bib with a special design showing that you've supported Arvet as part of your registration.

Who can apply for Arvet funding?

Member clubs within the Gothenburg Athletics Association can apply for support from Arvet. The clubs themselves know best what is needed to develop their activities.

Anyone who has been involved in athletics knows what it takes: early mornings, late evenings and everything in between. But no matter how much commitment and ambition there is, the budget is not always enough to grow, invest and develop.

The Arvet Fund is there to help where resources are limited. Quite simply, to make more possible.

Applications open on 2 November. The application link will be added here.
