Get ready for 10 km and join us in running the Digitala Varvetmilen at any location between run April 28 – May 1. Your result is the basis for seeding for the Göteborgsvarvet 2023.

  • Good to know Before your registration

    To participate in the Digitala Varvetmilen, the following is required:

    • You need to download the App “Göteborgsvarvet” to your smartphone.
    • The app needs GPS and mobile data turned on with sufficent coverage to relay your position and time.
    • The app works with (earliest) software version Apple Iphone iOS 13 and Google Android Version 7.

    NOTE! It will NOT be possible to submit result from example a running watch. Result in the Digitala Varvetmilen are only logged directly in the app.

  • Participate digitally Technical conditions

    • Make sure your phone is fully charged. GPS tracking can shorten battery life.
    • To improve the quality of the GPS tracking, avoid covering the phone with your body – a good position is to have the phone on your arm.
    • The app needs GPS and mobile data turned on with sufficent coverage to relay your position and time.
    • The app works with (earliest) software version Apple Iphone iOS 13 and Google Android Version 7.
    • Pay attention before your race and check if there is any update available for the app.
    • If you use Android, make sure that settings for battery optimization are not activated. Detailed information can be read here: https://q.r.mikatiming.com/mtapp-energy/en/
    • Please note that GPS receivers do not always measure exactly the same, therefore your watch, your friend´s watch or the app may show something different. The result that is logged in the app is what applies.

  • Step-by-step How do I log my race in the app?

    1. Download the “Göteborgsvarvet” app in the App Store or Google Play Store. Note! Not the app “Göteborgsvarvet - Virtual”
    1. Your start certificate for Digitala Varvetmilen is sent out about 1 week before the first race day. The start certificate contains your Registration ID.
    1. Go to “My Race” section and log in with your Registration ID and last name.
    1. When you are ready, press “Start tracking”. When you have pressed start, time rolls on. When you have reached the full distans , you get your end time (then you can stop the tracking).

Date: 28 April – 1 May.

Time: Any start time at one time on the above date.

Address: Run Digitala Varvetmilen where you are, wherever you want in the world.

Registration fee: SEK 195.

Before you register: Read through "Before your registration" above with the technical requirements for participating in the Digitala Varvetmilen.

Start certificate: You will receive your start certificate with Registration ID sent to you via e-mail about 1 week before the start of the race.

Before the start: Download the "Göteborgsvarvet" app. Go to the "My Race" section of the app and log in with your Registration ID and Last Name.

Timing: Start the timing in the Digital Lap Mile by pressing "Start tracking". When you have pressed start, time rolls on. You only have one try!

When you have reached the full distance, you get your end time (then you can stop the tracking).

Results: You will see your results in the app after completing the race. Your result will be published in the result list on the Göteborgsvaret website and My Pages on May 2.

After the race: You will be seeded with your result from the Digitala Varvetmilen to the Göteborgsvarvet 2023, when the result is published on My pages/home page.

  • Göteborgsvarvet starting groups Seeding rules

    In the Göteborgsvarvet, the participants start in a large number of start groups. What determines which starting group a runner ends up in is described in the seeding rules.

    With a result in the Varvetmilen, you are automatically seeded into a better starting group in Göteborgsvarvet 2023 than if you are unseeded, no other registration is required. You can already see which preliminary starting group a certain result qualifies you for.
    If you have several seeding results, it is always the best result that you are seeded with.
