Göteborgsposten live-stream
Göteborgs-Posten will broadcast the race live from 12:55 PM to 2:30 PM on May 23. Follow the coverage before, during, and after the race at gp.se/varvet.

GP gives you everything you need before, during, and after the Göteborgsvarvet. You can already read features, interviews with interesting people, and expert insights. During the race, GP will broadcast more than 1.5 hours live featuring the elite runners and will have several reporters around the city covering the festivities.

Subscribers can also watch themselves, friends, and family members along the 21-kilometre course through the start camera, two district cameras, and the finish-line camera. These cameras will be streamed live during the race and will also be available to watch afterwards on gp.se/varvet.

Download Göteborgsvarvet's app and take part in information both for you as a runner and visitor. The app can be downloaded where apps are available and is called Göteborgsvarvet.

The app includes, among other things:

  • Live results where you can follow your friends with position and time.
  • Our latest news
  • Participant and visitor information
  • Results lists
  • Beautiful selfie filters

If you have friends or family either on-site or following from afar and want them to track your progress during Göteborgsvarvet, they can do so through our app “Göteborgsvarvet,” available in the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).

The app has recently been updated for the 2026 race, so make sure to update the app to follow runners.

Once the app is updated, open it and click the “gear icon” in the top-right corner. Then select “Timing” and “News” so they are checked. You will then receive live updates on your phone for runners added as Favorites, including split times and finish times.

To follow runners, click “Follow runners – Split times and results” and search for the person you want to follow. For SEK 40, you can follow up to 25 runners at the same time. Click the (+) icon to add a runner as a Favorite.

Results, split times, and estimated next checkpoint
You can view a runner’s split times and results live (via the chip in the bib number), as well as an estimated time for the next split checkpoint. However, you cannot see the runner’s exact location on the course.

Results, split times, and exact position
To follow a runner’s exact position during the race, the runner must register in the app using their booking reference and surname under “My Race – Start live tracking.” The runner must also start tracking in the app when the race begins. The booking reference can be found in the runner’s start certificate.

Follow you friendsVia SMS

An easy way to follow the runner you’re cheering for during the Göteborgsvarvet is to order split times via SMS. You will receive a text message with the runner’s current time when they pass 5, 10, 15, and 20 km, as well as the finish line.

As a runner, you can also order your own results after finishing – or arrange for a friend to receive your times on their phone during the race.

SMS instructions

  • If you are running and want to receive your results after finishing:
    Send an SMS to 72700 with the code RGV bib number. Example: RGV 9876
  • If you want to follow a runner and receive updates along the course:
    Send an SMS to 72700 with the code GV bib number. Example: GV 9876
  • If you want someone else to receive your times on their mobile phone:
    Send an SMS to 72700 with the code GV bib number TO phone number. Example: GV 9876 TO +46701234567 


Service information
The service is provided by EST and supported by Telia, Halebop, Tele2, Comviq, Telenor, and Tre. The cost is SEK 40 per order. If you order updates to another mobile number (according to point 3 above), the cost will be charged to the person placing the order.

Göteborgsvarvet cannot guarantee the service in the event of issues with the mobile network operators. The SMS service is only available for the Göteborgsvarvet 21 k race.
