Warm-up: A group warm-up session will be provided at the start led by instructors from STC.

Timing: Timing is done with net time. We use an automatic timing system where all runners have a chip attached to their race bib. The official time is the net time from the start line to the finish line, so you don't need to jostle for a good position at the start.
Do you want to compete for the top positions? Position yourself at the front of the start line, as the winners are determined by gun time. This means that the first person to cross the finish line wins.
The net time, which starts when the runner crosses the start line, will be shown in the results and will be used for seeding purposes.

Seeding/Starting wave: Varvetmilen uses a “friend seeding” system. This means that runners help each other by choosing a suitable starting position, creating the best flow for the entire field from start to finish.
You choose your own place in the start pen. If you plan to run at an easier pace, line up towards the back. If you expect to run fast, position yourself towards the front.
Your time begins when you cross the start line.

Course: Varvetmilen is officially measured by a certified course measurer in accordance with the regulations set by the Swedish Athletics Association.
