Before the start

Welcome to Trailvarvet 2024!
We are so happy that you choose to run with us this year and want to share in the joy of running. Good luck and thank you for contributing to local grassroots sport. We couldn’t do it without you.

Start and start time
The race day is Sunday, May 12th, 2024, starting and finishing inside Slottsskogsvallen.

There are three start waves with a 2-minute interval between each, the first start is at 1:00 PM. The waves are based on self-seeding, you decide where in the starting field you belong. If you want to take it a little easier, stand a bit further back; if you belong to the faster part of the starting field, position yourself towards the front.

The Walk class starts immediately after the runners.

Race bib
You can pick up your race bib in the entrance park outside Slottskogsvallen between 10:45-12:45. Be there in good time and don't forget your start certificate you received via e-mail.

Please remember to arrive in good time to ensure a swift start.

Toilets
Available at the start and finish area.

Changing room and bag storage
You can leave your bag in the bag drop-off near the start. Please be aware that changing room and shower facilities are not available.

Warm up
Warm up will be under the guidance of instructors from STC and will take place before the start.

Getting there

Use muscle power, not engine power: A car-free day
Below you will find information on how to get to the race. Remember to be at the start area at Slottsskogsvallen in good time!

Public transport
We recommend using public transportation to get to the starting point! Choose one of the stops: Marklandsgatan or Botaniska Trädgården.

Plan your route on vasttrafik.se or in Västtrafik's ToGo app.

Car and parking
A limited number of parking spaces are available for an environmental fee of 100 SEK at Dalens gravel areas. Payment via Swish is accepted.

During the race

Course
Trailvarvet takes place in hilly terrain and diverse nature in the beautiful Änggårdsbergen, covering 11.5 km, with a walking class of 6 km. The route includes 300 challenging altitude meters, with 80% of the course on trails and forest paths. The final 20% of the course is on asphalt (the section closest to the start and finish).

Hydration stations
Water is served in the Änggårdsbergen, at 4.5KM, 9.3KM and at the finish line. For those who choose to walk 6 km, hydration is provided after 4 km and at the finish line.

Timing
The time starts when you pass the starting mat. To facilitate the start, we recommend faster runners to position themselves towards the front of the starting group. If you're running at a more leisurely pace, feel free to position yourself towards the back.

In the Trailvarvet Walk, there is no timing; the focus is on the wonderful experience in the beautiful environment.

Available at the start and finish area.

Medical care
Available in the start and finish area and along the course.

Cost for live results in the app: SEK 40 for 25 runners/relay teams.

At the finish

The finish line closes at 3:30 PM.

Medal
Everyone who competes in Trailvarvet or Trailvarvet Walk will receive a medal.

Final times for the running class are updated live and can be found here or in our app - Göteborgsvarvet.

Toilets & shower
Available at the start and finish area. There are no shower facilities.

Organizer
The race is organized by the Gothenburg Athletics Association. The surplus goes back to the association's associations and their youth activities, as well as the operation of Friidrottens Hus. Each year Göteborgsvarvet also collects approximately SEK 1 million for our charity partners.
