Light Run — a illuminated race in autumn darkness
A 12 kilometers long challenging and hilly course, mixed with light and sound experiences in Slottsskogen and Majorna — on Saturday November 6, it’s finally time for The Light Run. — It will be an awesome experience for all participants, says project manager Madelene Gimlegård.
After neither Göteborgsvarvet nor the other races during the autumn week 2021 could be carried out as planned due to the pandemic, we announced two weeks ago that a new race will be arranged on 6 November.
Now we can finally present more information about our newly launched race, The Light Run. Start and finish area will be at Slottsskogsvallen and the race has hilly and challenging course through an illuminated Slottsskogen and Majorna which offers both beutiful lights and autumn atmosphere.
- It feels fantastic to finally be able to arrange a race again, to welcome back our runners and once again give them the opportunity to experience the wonderful feelings of running together, nervousness and euphoria. Together with our partners, we will be able to invite the runners to a race that literally lights up in the autumn darkness, says Madelene Gimlegård, project manager for Light Run.
A bombastic start on the classic Slottsskogsvallen at 18.00 is promised - the runners will then continue their run along the track which is filled with beautiful light shows, atmospheric music and other performances.
Runners who were registered for Göteborgsvarvet, Göteborgsvarvet Marathon, Trailvarvet or Stafettvarvet 2021 will have the opportunity to transfer their registration to Light Run. Those who do not make an active choice to move their entry will automatically have their entry moved to the corresponding race next year (2023 for the Göteborgsvarvet Marathon). For others, registration for the Light Run opens in mid-October (more information on this will come).
- We have missed our runners and the vast majority of our runners have missed our races. This run is a tribute to everyone who missed a race during the pandemic and does not want to wait until next spring. The creativity and joy to finally be able to arrange a race again is noticeable among us, and it will be a great experience for all participants, says Gimlegård.
