Feel free to take public transport to the start.
The closest stops are Botaniska Trädgården or Linnéplatsen. Plan your journey using Västtrafik’s app ToGo or at vasttrafik.se.

By bus or car
If you're participating in Specialvarvet, free parking is available at Dalen’s gravel fields near Slottsskogsvallen. Participants arriving by bus may park in Slottsskogen. Enter through the southern entrance of the park and follow instructions from our staff. Please note that bus parking inside Slottsskogen is limited – when full, buses will be redirected to Dalen’s gravel fields. Parking at Dalen is also limited, as it is shared with visitors to the expo. If full, we recommend parking in nearby areas.

We offer dedicated drop-off and pick-up zones for service transport:

• Before 10:30 am drop-off takes place at Slottsskogen’s Southern Parking.
• After 10:30 am drop-off is at Dalen’s Parking.
• Pick-up after the race takes place at Dalen’s Parking, where a designated drop-off and pick-up zone is open from 08:30 am – 4:00. pm

For pick-up: make sure to note the participant’s phone number and agree on an exact location for smooth pick-up. After the race, participants can be picked up at the drop-off/pick-up zone at Dalen’s Parking.

Staff will be present at both Dalen’s Parking and Slottsskogen’s Southern Parking to assist and guide you.

The Course

NEW IN 2025! This year we’re introducing two brand new courses. The red course is 2.4 kilometers long and the blue course is 1.4 kilometers. The race starts in Slottsskogen near Björngårdsvillan.

Start Waves, Course, and Start Times

Red course 2,4 kilometers:
Red start group – 11.00 am
Orange start group – 11.15 am

Blue course 1,4 kilometers:
Blue start group – 11.30 am
Green start group – 11.45 am
Purple start group – 12.00 pm

Timing
Your time starts when you cross the starting line and stops when you cross the finish line.

Assistive Devices
You are of course welcome to use any assistive devices or equipment you need to complete the race.

Guides & Running Companions
When participating in Specialvarvet, you are allowed to run together with one or more companions. These may include guides, support staff, personal assistants, or family members. There's no need to register your companion(s) in advance.

Toilets
Toilets are available in the start area, near Slottsskogsvallen, and a few at Dalen’s parking area. Follow the signs on site.

There are also two rooms in the Slottsskogsvallen sports center, each equipped with 2 lifts, 1 independent toilet seat, and 1 bench.

Water Stations
Water is available at the start, along the course, and at the finish.

Medical Services
Medical staff will be available in the start and finish areas.

Runner Zone
After crossing the finish line, runners will be treated to water, bananas, cake, and ice cream in the Runner Zone – an area reserved exclusively for our participants. To keep the area accessible for everyone, we encourage you to take your treats up to the stands or outside the arena to enjoy them there.

Medal
Everyone who completes Specialvarvet will receive a medal at the finish line.

Awards Ceremony
There is no awards ceremony at Specialvarvet. Everyone is a winner and receives a medal after finishing the race.

Results
Split times and finish times are updated live and can be found on the results page – or in our app: Göteborgsvarvet.

After Run
This year, Passalen and Specialvarvet are hosting a well-deserved After Run to celebrate your achievement together! The After Run takes place in our Food Court area, right next to the arena, and is open to everyone from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

At the after run, we will dance, enjoy music, play games, and just hang out!

Organizer
The race is organized by the Gothenburg Athletics Association. The surplus goes back to the federation's associations and their youth activities, as well as the operation of Friidrottens Hus. Each year Göteborgsvarvet also collects approximately SEK 1 million for our charity partners.
