Before the start
Thank you for chosing the happiest race of the year. Specialvarvet has a huge place in our hearts and is the highlight of the year for many children, adolescents and adults with functional variations. Together we can create memories for life. Come and cheer on these heroes.
Please note that the Specialvarvet has in previous years been arranged on Fridays, now the race has been moved to Thursday, this year - May 16.
Two exciting courses
Specialvarvet starts close to Björngårdsvillan in Slottsskogen. You can choose between two courses. The red course is 3.3KM long and the blue course is 2.1KM
Both courses take in the beautiful Slottsskogen and finish through the Göteborgsvarvet finish inside Slottsskogsvallen. After the finish line, a well-deserved medal and other surprises await.
Start waves and start times
- Red course 3,3 km: 11.00 am (Red bib)
- Blue course 2,1 km: 11.30 am (Blue bib)
- Blue course 2,1km: 11.45 am (Light blue bib)
Race bib collection
Can be picked up in the race bib tent at the start in Slottsskogen on Thursday May 16 between 09.00–11.30. Show your start certificate when you pick up your bib.
Have you made a group registration?
Bibs for groups registered up to and including April 30 are packed together, the entire group's bibs are easily retrieved at the same time. Enter the name of the school/organisation used by the time of registration. The times are the same as above.
Groups registered after April 30, or participants in a group added after April 30, collect the bibs separately.
Warm up
The warm-up takes place at the start under the guidance of instructors from STC who will work the muscles nicely to be ready for the start line.
Toilets
Available at the start and finish area. Thera are also two toilettes in the fitness center by Slottsskogsvallen, each equipped with 1 lift, 1 independent toilet seat, and 1 bunk bed.
Changing rooms
Unfortunately changing rooms is not provided. We recommend arriving changed.
Bag storage
Unfortunately Storage of bags, valuables etc. is not provided.
Post-registration
It is possible to register on the day of the competition in the information tent at the start (Björngårdsvillan), at 09.00–11.30, SEK 200. (With reservation that the race may be fully booked)
News 2024 - Varva is coming to visit!
This year Specialvarvet will be visited by Göteborgsvarvet´s running troll Varva! The running troll Varva loves to run but also to hug. It is possible to meet Varva in Varva's tent between the times 9.30-10.15 & 10.45-11.15 by the start area.
